June 11, 2006 Anthem Blue Goo is Goo Fun for Goo Cause The Richmond Raceway Complex dripped with goo on Sunday afternoon, June 11, as more than 1,300 kids and 5,000 spectators and volunteers helped raise money to fight kid's cancer. Anthem Blue Goo, The Race To Slime Cancer, raised more than $50,000 in its 2nd year. Participants ran, jumped, slid, climbed and splashed through obstacles courses that led to a big pit of blue goo at the end. Blue Goo is just one of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield's many efforts to help make our community a healthier place for us all. Big River worked with Anthem to create and communicate the event through TV, radio, print and posters. Many Big River people and their families volunteered to help as well. The day was a gooey success. All proceeds go to VCU Massey Cancer Center.
